my week in objects (mostly).

April 3, 2015

first a little note to say thank you, thank you for all of the warm wishes that so many of you passed my way this past week or so. i’m so grateful for your support. and so excited about spending more time in this place. now, without further ado:

five little things that made my week.

1. this beat up old table.
table {for finding its way to us a few weeks ago. just what we wanted.}

2. these wide-legged jeans.
jeans {because every winter i say i’m getting rid of them. and every spring i end up wearing them again. and this week? every single day.}

3.this backpack.
backpack {because growing baby + computer + diaper bag + subway = needed a backpack.}

4. this jasmine.
jasmine {because i’ve been nurturing this potful and it bloomed just at the right time.}

5. this weekender.
escape {because i can finally put it to good use. we’re hopping a train to “grammy and grandpa’s” this weekend. (thank you, thank you, alice!)

other things:
facade fragments.
omg, barbie.
life lessons.
everyone needs a garden romper.
rethinking ‘having it all’: a survey.
ducklings!
bean doctor.

me in other places:
baby, books, the boss.

things from the archives:
botanical easter eggs.
nature does it best.

    I have that backpack and I LOVE how roomy it is and I love how it looks. However the straps do NOT stay adjusted tightly enough for me; every 30 seconds or so, they thing that adjusts them slips down and so the bag hangs way too low. I can't figure out if I'm doing something wrong or what. Have you had that problem?

      Only on day two of use! So far it's been such an incredible revelation not to have shaky arms from trying to hold on to baby and computer and subway pole that I didn't notice any slipping! Will report back!

    Happy weekend! I so enjoy reading your blog- it's one of my little pleasures whenever I find a moment to myself (I have a 2 month old and a just-turned-two year old :). I'm eagerly awaiting your book; I know I will enjoy it just as much as your blog!

    Erin,
    My sides were splitting reading that Barbie article.
    I was horrified last year when Solvi got 3 Barbies from friends on her b-day. Hello?! Fortunately I just discovered these. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lG-7e1vaB18. After watching the video, Solvi and I whipped out the nail polish remover and started on our own Barbie make under. We had so much fun.
    Things you have to look forward to.

    A word to say I've just discovered your blog and I've fallen in love with it, every word and every photo.
    I also read you post about how you manage your blog and sponsors and I wanted to say that I find you handle this delicate thing beautifully, with honesty and delicacy. I have a minimalist blog too, I love to write on it and recently I asked myself how could I manage to live from it one day if there was the possibility ; your blog is the example that is possible to do it gracefully.
    Thanks for the inspiration šŸ™‚
