If you follow me on instragram, you’ve already seen your share of snowy barns there. But just in case you don’t and maybe even if you do, here are a few more snowy scenes from our trip upstate at Christmas. It’s been all blue skies in New York lately–which is lovely–but there’s nothing quite spending the winter enveloped in the fluffy white stuff. If given the chance, I’d opt for snowy winter days over just plain cold ones every single time. What about you guys? Any snow enthusiasts out there?

Oh wow these pictures are beautiful! I love snow, but I wish I was slightly more co-ordinated when walking on it ā€“ I find it very difficult to stay on my feet! Sadly we don't get much snow in London, just lots of rain. Looks like you had a lovely trip! xx

Yes, snow enthusiast! I grew up in Vancouver, Canada and yes, it's Canada, but no, it doesn't snow in Vancouver (everyone thinks the Canadians are buried in snow, but not us out in the west). In the west, snow is so much fun cause it almost guarantees that school will be closed and it doesn't last so everyone gets outside (or at least I do!). So this year in France I was all excited to see a white winter… the first day it snowed in December I was delighted, ordered some snow boots on Amazon and got SO ready and excited… no. snow. since. šŸ™ Meanwhile, Vancouver got snow this year… lots šŸ™ I'm still hopeful, winter isn't over and I'm hoping to go find a cottage in the snowy alps sometime soon to get my 'fix'. Meanwhile I'll just ogle your beautiful, dreamy photos.

Oh, my goodness, yes, snow every time! Winter is for cold weather and snuggling up comfy at every possible opportunity – and it's all so much better with snow. These pictures take me to a very happy place.

I complained the other day that winter life in New York is no match for wintry towns upstate/in New England, or, in other words, trekking to key foods is most definitely not as beautiful and exciting as snow shoeing or cross country skiing.

I think that the cynical adult in me often views snow as something that gets my clothes wet or my shoes dirty, especially since the show in Chicago often turns to muddy slush. But there's still a part of me that views snow as a child would, where I want to make snow angels and throw snowballs at people.

So pretty! Snow and barns what a good combo!

I love the snow, but it rarely visit us here in Northwest.

Beautiful weathered barns in the snow — what a perfect photo opportunity!

Growing up, I think we got "snow" maybe once or twice, and by snow I mean a light dusting, never anything close to an inch. I love the snow when I travel to see it, but when you stuck trekking in it all day in NYC, the novelty quickly wears off.

you have a beautiful instagram feed and these photos are wonderful as well. i haven't seen snow in twelve years and i'm not sure if i really miss it. however, spending a few days somewhere remote and surrounded by snow in a little cabin does sound good.

I'm not using my instagram account at the moment, so I would happily vote for more snow barn photos on here! I just adore them. It is my dream to take my own photos of them one day. Beautiful.

I only saw snow for the first time last year (aged 35!). Where I live it doesn't snow, so for me it looks like magic falling out of the skies. Having said that, I'm not sure I'd want to live with it on a daily basis!

Lovely photos! I'm with you… if it must be bitterly cold out, there must be snow, if only to take the edge off. šŸ˜‰
