Loved the articles this week. So well written and thought provoking.

I spent almost 6 months lusting over a similar hair pink as “tuck” on Etsy (handmade right here in the Philadelphia area) before chopping off all my hair and now not needing it!

Love the article about home delivery. We had a milk (and eggs, butter, cheese, ice cream!) delivery for a few months and some folks said I was being lazy. But at the time I was 9 months pregnant with an 18-month-old and not having to buckle her in and out of the car and through the store just to make sure we had milk in the morning was a godsend. Thanks for posting this, just reminded me to start that back up.

god bless all the angels who refuse to villainize the “lazy” mothers…for heaven’s sake!

Speaking of snack cakes, this buttermilk quick bread is so simple and wonderful: http://www.thekitchn.com/how-to-make-buttermilk-quick-bread-with-10-different-variations-164621. I make it at least every few weeks. It’s good for breakfast with jam or warmed up for an after-work nibble. It’s super adaptable, but I like the original version the best (made with real buttermilk and real butter!). Last night, I added 1 lemon’s worth of zest which is tasty. xo!

Reminds me of one of my favorite poems:

    I have eaten
    the plums
    that were in
    the icebox

    and which
    you were probably
    saving
    for breakfast

    Forgive me
    they were delicious
    so sweet
    and so cold

Oh Erin, speaking of that poem, you should check out HBO’s DVD Classical Baby Poetry – different people (John Lithgow, Susan Sarandon, etc) read poems paired with little cartoon representations. There are two sets, and they’re wonderful. I’m guessing your Faye would love them.

You know what, I always ADORE your “my week in objects” post. It’s a really creative and interesting concept, so nice and enjoyable to read through as well! Reminds us weekly of life’s smallest joys. That utensil looks like something I’d totally buy myself; too cute!
And I’m very much enjoying these links.
Thanks for writing this! Have a lovely weekend x

Thank you so much for sharing the Outside article! I never would have stumbled upon that on my own and I absolutely loved it: beautifully written, so thought provoking. What an amazing woman. I just shared it with a bunch of people. THANK YOU.

Same. I’m so glad to hear other’s bravely shared perspectives. I’ve never understood that side of the “wilderness experience”

Me too…so eye-opening, and such lovely writing. Thank you so much, Erin!

On another note…I’m curious as to how you find all of these amazing earth-friendly, well-made-products and small businesses. You always share such amazing things, and usually from companies I’ve never heard of…do you just search certain words on Google? Word of mouth referrals? Please teach us your ways! 😉

Hi Grace! That’s one of the most gratifying parts of this job—getting to research and look into folks doing great work! Lots of folks reach out to me but I also do a lot of research to find them and I’m always taking notes and snapping pictures when I see something out and about that I admire!

The Modern Love article is so powerful and well-written. There were so many sentences that jumped out at me, that made me feel, “Yes, this is exactly how it is.” Thank you for sharing it!

I’ve just started reading Not Working and it’s so brilliantly written. The little bitesize paragraph style is so wonderfully insightful and I’m finding myself genuinely laughing out loud constantly. Thanks for this post <3
