my week in objects (mostly).

November 7, 2014

five little things that made my week.

1. this birthday card.
bday {because it’s a birthday weekend for my mom and james. which means cake.}

2. this cheese.
cheese {because it was stinky in a good way.}

3. this clip light.
lamp {because we don’t actually have a proper place for it, but it’s been lending a nice glow at night in its makeshift place.}

4. these orange-edged diapers.
diapers {because they mean another size up for the little bug.}

5. this pot.
pot {because it’s soup season.}

other things:
dad jokes.
for groceries + other things.
glowing orange.

dum-dum of a tree.”
western art history.
quilts.
long-term blogging.
breakfast mousse.

things by me in other places:
a little something silvery.

    have you posted on using cloth diapers yet!? although I don't have children yet, when I do, I want to at least TRY to use cloth diapers, but i'm a bit scared of using them in a tiny apartment!!

    Thank you for sharing the Shel Silverstein article. Sometimes I think we grow so accustomed, culturally and personally, to viewing a book as one-dimentional that we cannot see it any other way. I'm often surprised by how many people consider "The Giving Tree" not only a favorite but also a beautiful example of selfless motherhood, whereas I feel the book could as easily be titled "The Taking Child" or "Self-Abnegation." I appreciate Ruth Margalit's nuanced article, how open-ended she holds the book's interpretive possibilities.

    I would love to hear your cloth diapering perspective! We are also doing it but I love to hear about what's working for other people as well : )

      Hi there: I bought it a local lamp shop for about $20! Lots of hardware stores carry them, too (minus the wooden handle)!

    How good is the Le Creuset casserole dish? We're still using ours even though it's coming into summer!
