dry shampoo serum

i love new beauty potions as much as the next lady, but sorting through all the stuff out there can be more than a little overwhelming. sometimes i just want someone to tell me what to use. in hopes that i can help spread the good word, here are two products i’ve been using for the past few months that i’m particularly taken with.
cold spring apothecary‘s dry shampoo is just about my favorite thing. james thinks it’s a little heavy on the patchouli, but i don’t mind a bit. it’s filled with nice ingredients that i don’t have to worry about and it works, too. it’s especially good as a little post-workday freshener and it does wonders for hair that’s been smushed under a wool hat all day. next time i have some time away from work, i’m taking a little trip to cold spring. i’m fairly certain i’ll take home with me every single thing i find.
lush‘s full of grace serum is another recent favorite. the little bar doesn’t require any special packaging and it leaves your cheeks feeling silky smooth. seriously useful for new york city apartments where you can’t control your heat. also, it’s mighty sweet looking.
other things:
skin deep for thoughtful consumers.
change starts with your underwear.
ps. those jars? found intact buried beneath the ground at my mom and dad’s!

I kind of love that you found the jars burried. It makes them all the more special!

Thanks for the tips! I've never met a lush product I didn't like so I'll have to test yours out

Very pretty..do you have these on your counter or back of toilet (sounds funny I know) but the cork is the perfect solution for not having them slide off! Tomorrow is going to be my bathroom closet and clothes closet organizing day. It feels so good to sift through the old stuff and start pretty and fresh!

      hey julie,

they're on a tiny shelf. we mostly used it because the shelf was really gross–lots of cracks and about 20 layers of peeling paint. it was a cheap solution to a yucky problem!

Just found your blog, it's lovely. And that pink cup is gorgeous, it looks so delicate it must be special to have survived so long underground!

those jars are beautiful, buried under the ground really?! hidden treasure! I am so intrigued by the dry shampoo..it sounds like it would smell yummy and help style your hair. Loving the simplicity of Lush products at the minute – trying and liking the ultra bland cleanser of theirs

Will have to try the Lush stuff.

Sadly, I'm a zero tolerance on patchouli person (feel like my nose must have extra patchouli sensors or something, because I pick up even the faintest whiff of it and feel ill). I do need to find a dry shampoo that works for me, though. Still searching.

I am still dying to get that serum! Just need to order it. I wish I had a store nearby. Thanks for the advice. I am loving my lush solid shampoo, seems to have cured the winter frizzy/static problem I usually have.

Good recommendations, I will investigate them further, thank you. Though I'm especially taken by the buried treasure – that excites me!

I hear ya. I'm not so into beauty products and wish I all the fuss of guessing was taken out my daily regimen. Beautiful photos and great tips!
