new beginnings.

January 4, 2011
hello, friends. i’ve missed you! we’re back, happy to be home again and nesting. i’ve been finding places for the new goodies we’ve picked up along our holiday travels and preparing the apartment for winter. little steps to combat the winter doldrums and begin anew.
paperwhites
for starters, paperwhites in ball jars. signs of spring in the depths of winter.
amaryllisand an amaryllis that waited patiently to bloom until we came home. we repositioned her next to the window and i swear she’s grown taller overnight.
as far as i’m concerned january is the very best month of the year. so many chances to start fresh it makes my toes tingle. i’ll share a few photos from our december adventures over the coming week, but mostly i’m excited about what’s to come. i have a good feeling about this year. looking forward to taking a peek at all of your spaces over the next week. i’ve missed them. it’s good to be back.

Those are lovely! I've never done bulbs, but I am craving a bit of growth and was thinking I might try sprouting some herbs and coaxing them to grow in my kitchen.

Welcome back and Happy New Year! My amaryllis are coming up now too… one is very tall and the other is just starting to push up its bud. It's lovely to see some growth at this time of year.

It's good to see you again. I am looking forward to a fresh start too ~ it's just that time of year ~ so true. And it's a good thing you reminded me: I forgot that I have paperwhite bulbs in the refrigerator ~ I'm sure they're ready to come out by now.

    Happy New Year and Cheers~
