spring things with tradlands.

April 4, 2017

This post is sponsored by Tradlands, a favorite source for ethically made essentials for modern women.

Hello! Hi. It’s springtime. (So says the calendar.) I’ve been coaxing things along with a little indoor and outdoor bulb planting, farmer’s market peach blossom hoarding, and ankle baring, regardless of outdoor temperatures that have remained stubbornly cool.

To celebrate the new season and in case you’re feeling inspired to do a little spring wardrobe refresh, I’m showing off a few new spring styles from Tradlands (and offering Reading My Tea Leaves readers a special discount).

This season, Tradlands is debuting fresh new tunics, complete with mandarin collars, short-sleeved blouses, and, coming soon, long-sleeved cotton henleys, all made right here in the USA. As ever, Tradlands is especially committed to making their clothes in facilities that are clean and safe and where workers get paid a living wage. spring arrivals from @tradlands | reading my tea leaves

Tradlands introduced two new tunic-length shirts for spring. The JJ Tunic, above, is made from 100% linen. The tobacco-colored fabric shifts between grey and black and brown depending on the light. This updated tunic’s a bit longer than past versions and has a sophisticated mandarin collar.

Both tunics have deep side slits and a generous length that makes them just right for layering over jeans, or, yes, leggings.

I like to think of it as a t-shirt made for dressing up in.

Thick pearlized buttons are a Tradlands signature that make all of their button-up shirts especially lovely; the utility shirt boasts extra-big ones.

The Jessica Grey is one of Tradland’s best-selling button-ups. The heathered cotton/flax fabric is super soft, and pairs easily with just about anything.spring arrivals from @tradlands | reading my tea leaves

It’s my favorite Tradland’s shirt for layering underneath jumpsuits and overalls.

The 100% organic cotton poplin is soft and lightweight, and the tailoring is crisp and clean.

To help you stock up on spring staples, Tradlands is offering Reading My Tea Leaves customers $25 off orders of $100 or more with the code “hellospring.” All Tradlands customers enjoy free shipping and returns in the US. (International shipping is also available: $5 to Canada and $10 to everywhere else.) Offer good through April 30, 2017spring arrivals from @tradlands | reading my tea leaves

For the curious: My jumpsuit is from Hackwith Design House; my jeans are from Paige Denim, Faye’s dress is from Over the Ocean.

I saw The BCN on their IG and loved it.

Also – have an identical rose gold ring on my right middle finger. Must be an “Erin” thing. 😉

Beautiful! Erin, curious how tall you are? Wondering if I’ll be lost in the tunics at 5’3″.

These pieces are all GORGEOUS. Love the long tunics with the side slits – the colors are beautiful, and they look SO flattering.

Oh my gosh I’m so excited by how large these go! It’s constant heartbreak trying to find good quality, ethical clothes that don’t exclusively cater to those of us lovely ladies with, ahem, more petite chests. I’m a 12-14 and I fit into most non-plus-sized clothes from big box stores (surely vanity sized, I know), but for some reason, it seems like all the clothing companies with great ethics are completely blind to anyone who isn’t slim slim slim everywhere. I’ve had to return so many incredible tops because they squish ma boobers even if they fit everywhere else.

All of which to say… the Tradlands XL chest measurements go up to 48″ (FORTY EIGHT! so much room!) which is fantastic and truly rare… I can actually fit in those and can’t wait to place an order! <3

I’ve had my eye on those short sleeve shirts – and had just been hoping you’d tell us about a discount code soon! Thanks for always highlighting these great companies.

Hey Julie! Every Tradlands product page has a size guide that includes detailed measurements, including sleeve length! Hope that helps!

Thank you for your comment! We have added length on all of our tunic options. We’ll have additional tunic styles in the summer too. We also have added length on The Ada tees and short sleeve button-ups. Those will be restocked in late spring. Hopefully this helps!

We’ve had lots of requests for tall sizes so this is something we will certainly work towards. Our goal is to make shirting for all women across all sizes. We haven’t quite gotten to the time when that is possible for us (with a business of our small size) but we are hoping to get there soon. Likely by early next year. Thanks again, Julie! 🙂

What are your thoughts on the BCN for breastfeeding? I love Tradlands and I’ve been eyeing these shirts, but I’m a first-time mom due this summer and am trying to be strategic about clothing purchases.

Totally depends your comfort level with tummy baring! I think most shirts that lift up easily are fair game (esp. since the baby will cover most of the bared belly when you’re nursing!).

I’ve been loving so many of the items for Tradlands for so long, but I’ve been waiting for the perfect item since it’s quite a splurge for me! I think this discount is just what I need to dive in!

Love the Lisbon shirt. It’s beautiful and the colour is gorgeous. Though Lisbon should be white or black to honour ravens and caravels, symbol of one of the most exciting cities in the world. Hope it will be in your list to visit. Where I was born, studied and work. Go Lisbon!
