my week in objects (mostly).

January 9, 2015

five little things that made my week.

1. this winter scene.
winter scene {because january should feel clean and bright.}

2. this special chair.
chair {because it belonged to james and now it fits our bug (with the help of a pillow or two).}

3. this album.
album {my christmas gift from james. treasured this week and always. (update: designed here!)}

4. this closet pole.
bib {because a return home to regular habits is such a nice feeling.}

5. this amaryllis.
amaryllis {because returning home to a blooming flower is a pretty sweet way to start the year.}

other things:
because it’s really dark without the tree lights.
speaking of trees.
late to the party, but resolving to take more selfies.
let’s.
favorites collide.
“what if she just blew away?”
being boss.
i need shearling. everything.

me in other places:
staying organized.

    Love your article about staying organized! Hoping to implement these techniques more this month. And that little high chair is darling.

    What a gorgeous high chair! My parents have in their possession the wooden high chair my dad and his siblings sat in as babies, presumably made in the 40s or 50s, and I love that multiple generations have now eaten in that seat.

      Did you spot it in the organization piece? The high chair is next to our dresser in our main room! (Updating with a link to the album! He bought it through Artifact Uprising!)

    The high chair looks beautiful. Where do you keep it in your small apartment?
    For the album James made that I am guessing is filled with Faye photos, did he use a particular company you guys like?
    I loved reading your helpful hints for staying organized. Those are all things I feel inherently we know we should do to keep clutter at bay but it really helps to have that gentle reminder, especially after the holidays!
    Have a great weekend!

    Hi Erin,

    In terms of Christmas tree collections, I learned something this week that I just think is the bees knees in terms of recycling and maximizing resources. Goat farmers near Ottawa (Canada) ask people to bring them their Christmas trees because apparently goats love to eat them. In this case, the farmer's goats eat 15 a day. What a fabulous solution from putting them in landfill! Apparently other animals will eat them too and there was another farmer (was it bison?) who also asks for donations too. I LOVE that!

    I love these posts. Your photos are just so clean and dreamy! That high chair resembles the one my brother and I had as a child. I love it!

    How lucky for the Junebug to have a high chair with such a special history. Plus it goes so well with your dining table and chairs.
    I'm off to create my own version of the first photo and will then be looking for some things to clear out as per your organisation piece.

    Hi Erin,
    What a wonderful blog you have, I love all your posts and strive to have my apartment be as clean and simple as yours.
    What beauty bag do you use? The link expired on your previous post. I'm trying to find something to hold things from makeup to deodorant. I do not have a lot, but space is limited and I would love a bag to hold it all.

    Thank you,
    Melissa

    I love these posts :). How precious that your daughter can use the same high chair your husband had. That's really neat.
