You forgot to include in your post that those pigs are being raised for slaughter.

You call them "friendly" and have no problem that they will be killed and put on Blue Hill's dinner menu.

To the commenters: What is cute about raising pigs for food?

      Hi anon.,

You're right, I didn't mention that these pigs are used in meat production (though they happen to be breeding stock,
And are not being raised for slaughter themselves. I'm a vegetarian myself, but I respect people's decisions to consume meat, especially meat that's being raised in a thoughtful and sustainable way!

I am in love with this piggies and do so wish that your reason for raising them had nothing to do with consumption. Of course, I am open to talk about plant-based diets and veganism at any time.

One of my happiest moments in life was watching a hog's back get scratched with a wooden garden rake. Never in my life have I seen such ecstasy. I married the man with rake.

    Your blog is very special.
