my week in objects (mostly).

February 28, 2010

this week was another busy one. i needed the quiet of the weekend to reflect on the days that came before it. but here they are, five little things that made my week:

1. these beeswax candles. beeswax_candles{because even unlit, they are so cheery. and i could use cheery these days}.

2. these tomatoes. tomatoes{because it sure does help when things come in pretty packages}.

3. this crepe pan. crepe_pan{because it makes the perfect pancakes}.

4. this milkshake. milkshake{because it was had over a meeting about an exciting new project i’m working on for school. exciting and time-consuming. i guess that’s how these things go}.

5. this succulent. succulent{because it came back to life even though i killed all of its siblings. turns out even succulents like a drink sometimes}.

phew. i did it.

now, what little something made your week?

I like the succulent, although my one cat is liable to eat it anyway.

I love that you've taken your time to share – it makes it all the more meaningful. And pretty packaging rocks – makes me smile every time.

Hope school is going well, dear. It appears as though it is – and that makes me happy for you.

My week was a jumbled mess of sick kid, and later in the week, kid falling down brick steps, and just all-around taking care of little guy while he recovered. He's now fine, by the way… I, on the other hand, am a little frazzled from hyper-alert mama bear mode. Phew..! What a week! Thank goodness the weekend was a lot mellower…

    xoxo,

That succulent is so sweet, happy that it came back.

My furry blanket made my week, spent so much time cuddled up in it watching the Olympics.

    Hope everything is okay, pal.

My week was made by getting to take a snow day Friday. Yay for working at home in my slippers!

I love pretty packaging like your tomato tin!

I found my old vintage typewriter downstairs and pulled it out to type a letter to friend who moved to England. It was so hard to press down so firmly, and frustrating at times with spacing, but it felt so good to do something so tactile!

Good luck with your new school project!

Yes! San Marzano tomatoes are the best ever. I love this post that you do each week. I think it's a great way to simply be grateful and pay attention to the things that matter, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant.
