my week in objects (mostly).

May 15, 2009
five little things that made my week.

1. crepes.crepes
{because sunday morning never tasted so good}.

2. yerba mate.yerba
{because it brews in cold water. and looks so purty}.

3. new sandals.sandals
{because they aren’t these, but they’re still pretty and let’s face it, that was never gonna happen anyway}.

4. vegan chocolate cake with coconut maple frosting.cake (1)
{because…oh, just reread the name. drool}.

5. this bag.bag
{not because it’s still sitting in the corner (ahem), but because it means that james is home. woot}.

now, what little something made your week? c’mon, i really want to know…

you enjoy the best food. love the sandals and a backpack never looked so happy.

on the way home from a training class, scott off the subway to buy me some lilacs. they were 3 feet tall and made my week thinking of him on the subway with such tall flowers and the black eye he has. what were people thinking ;)?

    have a nice weekend!

Yummy-looking crepes! And I won’t even dwell on the cake–it looks dangerous to all my (no) dessert resolutions! My week was made by long walks along the lakeshore with my bf, looking through course schedules, and this week’s episode of The Office.

    what made my week:
pressing “send” on a history manuscript
being in a circle of Toddies on Granite Bay
finding a galvanized tin tray marked Angel Garden
loving the month of May in CT: can you say white lilacs?
having my Caity (and her Silky)at my table

My mom makes an incredible vegan chocolate cake but with coconut icing. I wonder if it’s the same one?

my semester’s done, so i’ve spent my mornings browsing the web (which also means i get the chance to read your lovely blog!), drinking tea, and catching up on “the moth” storytelling podcasts. this one, http://castroller.com/podcasts/TheMothPodcast/1010936, is especially funny (really funny, actually. brace yourself.) it made me think of you–don’t you have your own kennedy beach story? have a great weekend!

Cake, new sandals…it all looks wonderful, I can see why those items made your week.
Something that made my week, homemade chicken tacos last night, one of my favorite dinners that Case makes, oh and then the toasted marshmallows by the fire afterwards.
    🙂

The little baggy of dried lavender I bought yesterday from a sweet little apothecary tucked away on west 13th street.

    I can’t stop smelling it!

My brother in law who is from Argentina introduced us to mate. I’ve never tried it cold but it looks so good and those crepes I am so craving after seeing that photo.

Your sandals are so cute! I have a pair of metallic sandals. I’m sure yours will get much use. What made my week was getting to learn about and play with milk paint. It’s so fun to work with your hands (in a non-typing way.)
